A NEW HOME FOR THE CISC BADMINTON CLUB

Earlier this year we said goodbye to our long time home at Hillhurst-Sunnyside Community Association gym and moved our Friday night badminton sessions into the new Sunridge Badminton Centre (SBC) – one of the largest badminton facility in Canada and the first of its kind in Calgary.  With 16 international standard courts, SBC is the newest gathering spots for all badminton enthusiasts across the city.

While we will missed the many memories and friend at HSCA, the feedback from all of all players have been overwhelmingly positive.  With our annual end of season tournament& BBQ just around the corner we look forward to making new memories at SBC.

Drop-in fee: $8*
* SBC membership will now be required for all players including drop-in players. Non-SBC members can either purchase a yearly SBC membership or pay a one-time guest fee of $5.

SHUTTLES

Plastic shuttles are provided, however most members prefer playing with feather shuttles. We do have a limited quantity of Victor Tourney (Blue) feather shuttles available for sale. For more information, talk to one of the club executives during the badminton session.

Indonesian Folk DanceIntensive Dance Workshop 2012

June 14 to June 25

It is with excitement and enthusiasm that we would like to announce starting June 14 through June 25, we are holding an Indonesian traditional dance workshop to be held a our Club House

We are bringing back Mr. Tom Ibnur a well known professional choreographer from the Jakarta Institute of Performing Arts. He will be leading the workshop exclusively for our members. Mr.Ibnur will be teaching us 6 different dances from various Indonesian Provinces. We need your participation to join this intensive workshop, all members are welcome. To qualify you must be a member, 13 years old and up, and committed to performing when needed. You need not be an experience dancer, just dedication and commitment. Don’t miss this opportunity !
