I am sure you are waiting for our ever popular Warung Sabtu – yes, it’s Saturday Food Bazaar.
The event will be held on:
Saturday, Oct 29, 2011, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm
at CISC Club House.
This time Warung Sabtu will feature the following menu:
Bubur ayam
It is made from rice as the main substance. There also chicken, fried soybean, sauce, chips, and sambal (condiment) to make it more tasty.
Siomay
Siomay (also Somay), is an Indonesian steamed fish dumpling with vegetables served in peanut sauce. It is derived from Chinese Shumai. It is considered a light meal that is similar to the Chinese Dim Sum, but is cone shaped. It is traditionally made from tenggiri (wahoo) fish meat.
Nasi gudeg
Gudeg is a traditional food from Yogyakarta and Central Java, Indonesia which is made from young Nangka (jack fruit) boiled for several hours with palm sugar, and coconut milk .
Nasi uduk
Nasi uduk is made by cooking rice soaked in coconut milk instead of water, clove, cassia bark, and lemongrass.
Lupis
Indonesian cake made mainly of glutinous rice
Bakwan
Indonesian Bean Sprout and Potato Fritters
Tahu isi
Fried tofu with filling served with bird eyes chillies.
Kue pastel
Indonesian puff cake, fills with carrot, potatoes, chicken/beef meat, boiled egg, and bean thread noodles (soun)

It’s sweet from the brown sugar, rich from the coconut and has chewy texture from the grated tapioca.
Kue lumpur
Indonesian mud cakes made of margarine, sugar, salt, vanilla, egg, coconut.

This is Sundanese snack made from oncom, red onion, garlic, cayenne pepper, kencur, salt, sugar, basil
Tape goreng
This is delicious fermented Casava cake, fried with flour, egg and sugar.

Mpek mpek
Pempek, mpek-mpek or empek-empek is a savoury fishcake delicacy from Palembang, Indonesia, made of fish and tapioca. Pempek is served with yellow noodles and a dark, rich sweet and sour sauce called kuah cuka or kuah cuko (vinegar sauce).
Cendol
Cendol (pronounced /ˈtʃɛndɒl/) is a traditional dessert originating from South East Asia which is still popular in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar (where it is known as Mont let saung), Singapore, Vietnam, and Southern Thailand where it is called lortchorng singapore ลอดช่องสิงคโปร์).
Rujak Serut
This literally means “shredded rujak”, and is another variant of Indonesian fruit rujak. As with rujak tumbuk, the ingredients are similar to Indonesian fruit rujak, with the exceptions that the fruits are not cut into bite-sized pieces, but shredded into a roughly grated consistency.

Main nutrient content in the pempek are protein, fat, and carbohydrates derived from fish and tapioca flour.
